It’s been ANOTHER week of teenage tantrums. Whoever said the ‘terrible twos’ were bad hasn’t seen anything yet! Not only that but this week the little one came down with his monthly dose of a chest infection, which wore us both out as he wheezed his way through the first half of the week. Thankfully we got it under control quickly as we have a stock of medicine at home because it happens so often and he’s now back at school. Needless to say the haircut I was looking forward to on Monday morning was promptly cancelled – I must remember to rebook that! And our weekend was pretty much spent snuggled up on the sofa inside. But as always #littleloves helps me to see the positives in the week, so here goes:
I finished The American Girl which was a brilliant read and have started on Are We Nearly There Yet? It’s such a funny story and follows Ben and his wife Dinah as they road trip around the UK in their Astra with two under 4’s in tow. Needless to say it doesn’t exactly run smoothly and much hilarity ensues. I’m about half way through and am absolutely loving it. Definitely one to read if you’re in need of a giggle.
I also started reading She Means Business. I bought this book a while back when it first came out and its been on my kindle waiting for me to start reading ever since. I usually only have one book on the go but I have so many non fiction titles waiting to be read I thought I’d better get cracking and what better way to start than this beauty. I used to be a member of Carrie’s Female Entrepreneur Association and her podcasts are seriously inspiring too, so I knew what to expect from this book. It’s all about empowering women and helping them achieve their goals. If you have a blog or are thinking of setting up your own business, or even if you’re already in business and just want to evaluate how you’re doing, it’s a great books to read. If you’ve been meaning to get yourself a copy it’s down to 99p on kindle at the moment so snap it up while it’s cheap!
I ‘made’ a few photoboxes on millioneyez after seeing it on Jenny’s blog recently. I’ve had fun playing around with my own photos, but this one grabbed my attention straight away. There’s always time for Paris after all!
New swimming cossie alert. It has definitely warmed up this last week so I’ve been making the most of the pool.
We heard we may have a chance of moving to be closer to family. After finding out how ill my grandad is last week it’s really brought home to me how much I hate living so far away. We’ll know if it is a possibility next week, so I may well be sharing some happier news on Friday and/or moaning about the ensuing logistical nightmare.
Here’s hoping things start to fall into place next week. We’ve got so much going on at the moment. There’s the teen’s end of year exams (another cause of much teenage stropping as she point blank refuses to revise), the little one has sports day to prepare for and a school trip to one of his favourite places to look forward to next week. And of course the whole excitement and uncertainty of yet another potential move on the cards. I seriously need to stop overthinking things, worrying about everything and just let things take their own path. I’m all about this quote this week!
Have a great weekend!
