As it’s my weigh in day tomorrow and my mum will be coming over in the evening to get weighed and measured, I have been thinking of what to cook. I’ve decided on slimming world chips and steak with Slimming World syn free peppercorn sauce. I’ve made this plenty of times and it’s absolutely gorgeous, far better than anything you’ll ever get out of a packet and so easy to make – what makes it even better is it’s Syn free if you’re on Slimming World!
You will need:
1 onion, finely diced
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
312ml/11 fl oz chiken stock
1 tbsp crushed peppercorns
1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
198g/7oz very low fat fromage frais
1. Place the onion and garlic in a pan with the stock in a pan and boil.
2. Reduce the heat, add the peppercorns and worchestershire sauce and simmer for 15-20 minutes until slightly reduced and thickened.
3. Remove from the heat and stir in the fromage frais and season.
4. Keep warm until ready to serve, but don’t place it back on the heat or it may curdle.
If you don’t have any peppercorns you can easily make this sauce with ground pepper, just add to your liking. I’ve also added mushrooms and spinach to the sauce in the past and it has been just as nice.
Don’t have very low fat fromage frais? Add a tbsp or two of Elmlea light double cream (or similar) and count the syns.
