I bit the bullet and finally signed up to Slimming World again yesterday. After a year of pretty much eating anything and everything, it’s time to get my act together and lose weight once and for all.

I’ve got a massive amount of weight to lose. About 8 1/2 stone in total. No one ever thinks I have that much to lose. I’m tall (ish) at 5ft 8 so I guess I ‘hide it’ well. Or perhaps 8 1/2 stone is such a massive amount no one believes I could possibly be that fat.

Slimming World is a diet that has worked for me in the past. I lost 4 stone in just 4 months about 6 years ago so I’m hoping it will help me tackle my weight and get back to a healthy weight. A weight I haven’t been since I was a teenager.

I’ve signed up online. There are no groups here, so it was either attempt it completely on my own or go online and hope that by doing so I’ll at least get a bit of that motivation I found in the groups in the past.

Meal plan wise I’ve come up with the following dinners for the week:

 

Roast dinner with Oxo roast potatoes

Chicken shawarma

Kofta curry

Chicken chow mein

Spaghetti bolognaise

Steak in peppercorn sauce

Chicken jalfrezi

I really struggle to come up with healthy breakfasts and lunches so I’ll be making up a batch of Louisiana chicken and rice for lunches throughout the week, along with soup and jacket potatoes. I really am useless at breakfast and so far it’s pretty much looking like toast or porridge, so I need to liven up my choices a bit to make sure I don’t get bored.

    Best of luck with your SW journey (I hate the word journey, but you know what I mean!) I’m a month in and I’ve found it the easiest ‘diet’ to stick to so far so I have high hopes for both of us! I have a massive amount of weight to lose too – you’re not alone x

      Thanks Kate. Ha ha I hate the word ‘journey’ too when it refers to anything other than an actual journey! You’re doing really well! I’m nicking your oxo potatoes recipe for dinner tonight, can’t bloody wait! x

      Thanks hun. Yes we do go back a few years ha ha! My mum’s on WW, she said it’s quite like SW these days. They’re always changing the diets aren’t they! I keep having to check the syns for stuff because things that were previously free or healthy extras on SW are now syned which is a bit of a pain but I’ll get there x

    I hope your first week has gone well chick! That meal plan looks awesome! SW still blows my mind at what you can eat on plan – your meal plan is pretty much all my favourite food! A previous 4 stone loss in 4 months is mental, but you know you can do it. Please don’t ever feel you are on your own, because you are not, we are all here with you on our own journeys… all heading in the same direction!       Thanks Sim. Ha ha still does that to me too, the sheer amount of food you can have is ridiculous, but it seems to work! Fingers crossed we’ll all be getting closer to our weight loss goals this year x
