New Hair, I, Tonya and The Comfort Food Cafe #littleloves

I’m a bit late to the #littleloves party this week. We’ll just blame the 6 year old who was taken down by scarlet fever towards the end of the week, poor little dude. Let’s just say it’s been a week of highs, like having my hair done and taking my mum for afternoon tea, and lows – being puked on in the middle of the night.

Without further tales of the woe is me variety, here’s what I’ve loved this week:

As soon as I saw Sunshine at the Comfort Food Cafe was up for review I had to read it. I LOVE this series. It’s quite literally like a warm hug in book form and you can’t help but smile as you read it. It’s the 4th (I think) in the Comfort Food Cafe series, a series of books I adore, focussing on a windswept cafe perched on a hill above the Cornish coast and the local villagers. Somehow, the cafe and its ballsy owner Cherie manages to change lives simply by being there for waifs and strays stumbling across the village before making it their home and of course, the locals too.

This book focuses on Willow, the cafe’s waitress, who lives with her mum Lynnie, who has dementia. Willow is run off her feet, coping with the ever-changing disease that has taken hold of her beloved mum, while trying to hold down a job. Then one day a stranger appears in town, changing Willow’s life forever. I’m already in love with this book and I haven’t even finished it yet.

I watched I, Tonya this week and loved it. It’s one weird film, but the way it all comes together is brilliant. If you get the chance to see this one, you definitely should.

I ‘made’ the decision to bin the brunette and go blonde again this week. I haven’t been ‘proper’ blonde for years but fancied a change so thought why not see if I could get a last minute appointment and surprise the Mr with a new look when he returned from his week working away. Needless to say I think it was a bit of a shock to find a blonde in our car when I picked him up from the station last night. If you fancy a peek at the ‘new me’ I’ve added it to my highlights on my insta stories.

One of my favourite tops from Sainsbury’s. I bought it hoping to fit into it a few months back and having lost almost 2 1/2 stone now it finally fits. I love the flowery embroidery. And it goes with these gorgeous tulips I treated myself to in Waitrose. Not that I’m coordinating my clothes to my tulips, but y’know it’s the little things…

This seems to be on the radio 24/7 at the mo. Mind you I am rather partial to a bit of Craig David.

I love this one from Eminem and Ed Sheeran too, which has also been gracing the radio waves every other song lately. These two together was always going to be magical.

And lastly…

As you can imagine we’re having a quiet one this weekend. Here’s hoping the little dude is back to full health soon and we can get out and about exploring again.

Have a great weekend whatever you’re up to.

He’s all better now thankfully. Ha ha thanks, I must admit I’m loving the blonde. I can’t stop buying flowers right now, although it is a bit weird buying spring flowers when it’s snowing outside! x

I want to see I, Tonya! There are so many films out at the moment that I’d like to see. Might have wait until they’re available to rent though. We struggle so much to get a babysitter.
Loving your top! What a great moment to really appreciate your achievement. xx

You need to get your afternoon cinema trips reinstated 😉 My partner hates going to the cinema so I often go on my own or drag the teen along these days. It’s a really good film, definitely one to watch x

I too love Craig David, he is a guilty pleasure of mine. I’m gutted I didn’t get to see him on tour. Next time! Well Done on your weight loss, that must be such a boost. I had a look at your new ‘do’ and I love it. It really suits you! How have you been holding up in the weather this week? My school has been open all week – it’s my day off tomorrow, and guess what? The bloody place is shut! I’m tempted to ask for a Snow Day in lieu 😉 Enjoy the rest of your week xx

Ha ha if he comes to Kent, we’ll have to go together 😉 Aww thanks, am loving the blonde. I was blonde like forever and only went dark when I moved abroad so although I know what I look like blonde I’m still getting a shock when I see myself in the mirror – almost a who’s that kind of moment – I’m such a weirdo. Oh no typical, your day off would be the snow day! I’ve been absolutely bloody freezing this week! Where is spring? x

Wow to going blond on a whim!!! I’m to Insta Stories to check you out 🙂 I would never be brave enough. And you’ve lost so much weight – well done, amazing. I love Sainsbury’s for clothes these days and this top really does coordinate beautifully with the tulips. I’ve actually find my blog a great source of motivation to look after myself a bit more, do you? Your poor boy though, I hope he’s feeling much better this week. xx

I, Tonya looks weird indeed. I’ve heard Margot Robbie’s interview on The Woman Hour and there seems to be a lot of violence in it! Since you recommend it, I’ll be waiting for the film to come out in Belgium! I love River! I’ve listened to it about a thousand times in the car already 😉
