What a few weeks its been! There are lots of changes happening for our little family at the moment. And while extremely stressful I can’t wait for them to turn from plans into reality. It will mean a whole new life for all of us and I can’t wait. If you want to see what I’m rambling on about, read on:
I love this series. It follows Beth as she flees her violent ex to start a new life in a quiet Cotswolds village. This is the last in the series and it doesn’t disappoint. Picking up where the last book left off and throwing you head first into the latest in a long line of disasters for Beth. They’re only very short stories (a full book is due out soon), so you can easily read them in just a few hours. Perfect for weekends away or on the sun lounger.
And I’ve just finished this book. Again another series. Confetti at the Cornish Cafe follows Cal and Demi as they negotiate the running of their boutique holiday resort. As well as planning the celebrity wedding of the year and finding their way in their own blossoming relationship. It’s not as cutesy as it sounds, infact it’s funny in parts and touching in others. Definitely another great find of a series.
The 5 year old made an amazing start to his reading. He has been sent home with books every week since he started infant school in September. But for the last 2 weeks he has brought ‘proper’ reading books home. I’m not sure whether he memorises the words from school or if he actually really can read. But he literally just picks the book up and reads it. It’s so odd listening to my baby read a book.
I actually wore jeans this week. But I almost died from heat exhaustion so they were hastily removed and a summer dress thrown on instead. Jeans and summer dresses aside I’ve barely been out of the pool over the last week or so. It’s like a bath now and I could quite honestly spend all day in there.
We got the news we were waiting for in that we will be moving near my mum. I would say ‘back home’, but she moved an hour away from where I used to live a few years ago. But I guess that just adds to the adventure. We’ll be able to discover the area as we go.
There has been a LOT of stress over this move, one of the reasons I didn’t get around to writing my #littleloves post last week. I guess it’s expected when you’re moving country. But you wouldn’t think it’s actually harder to move back to your country of birth, than it is to pack up and move around all over the place.
It’s highly likely we’ll be moving in to a house without having seen it ourselves. Luckily for us our mums are on the case and my mother in law is viewing two houses tomorrow alone. I guess I’d better start getting organised and dig out those packing boxes from our last move.
We have a nice long weekend ahead thanks to the school being closed on Monday. As if that isn’t enough time off school we then have a public holiday on Wednesday. And the teen is on exam leave from next week, only going back in to school to take her exams before school finishes for both of them on the 23rd. Of course now we now we have a move to organise and I have my new job to start (nothing like biting off more than you can chew!) we’ll certainly be making the most of any free time.
