May was a great month for adventures. With not one, but two bank holidays, lots of sunshine and half term thrown in for good measure, adventures were practically guaranteed.
Here’s what we got up to:
We spent the first bank holiday weekend at the beach with friends. This one, of course, was accompanied by his dinosaurs and he and his little friends enjoyed burying eachother in the sand and devouring 99s, before we all headed for fish and chips.
We visited the most beautiful private gardens, which only open to the public once a year to raise funds for a local hospice and boy was it worth it. The flowers were stunning and we had lots of fun messing around among them, trying to capture a few outfit shots for a post I was doing at the time.
This little dude loves a museum. His idea of heaven is digging for fossils in the sandpit, reading about dinosaurs and seeing all the dinosaur models at Maidstone Museum. I love the fact that he actually asks us to take him there. Happily spending time reading every exhibit description and looking out for new additions to the displays.
The last bank holiday weekend was spent with the same friends we spent the first May bank holiday with. We headed to Leeds Castle where there was a medieval event taking place. The kids gorged themselves on ice cream at just gone 10am, explored the castle, watched the jousting and mounted displays, played in the playground and burned all that pent-up energy off. A great way to kick start half term.
The little dude was plagued with a chest infection over half term, but before he got ill he requested a mummy ‘date’. We headed to a nearby farm where we saw the baby chicks, stroked the bunnies and messed around in soft play, before visiting the library and his favourite cafe. It was the perfect day, just us two.
