Making Plans, Hitting the Pool and Old TV Shows #littleloves

The last two weeks seem to have flown by in a blur of work and illness (the four year old), hence my #littleloves post going up so late. Despite being busy and stuck inside for the majority of the week, this week, there’s still been plenty to love.

Another wonderful read by Debbie Johnson, my new favourite ‘chick lit’ author. I love how her books are so real, there’s none of the over the top fluff you find in so many books of the same genre. There’s love, loss and laughter, all set in a pretty Cornish village that widowed mum of two Laura escapes to for the summer a few years after losing her husband. She and her teens travel down from Manchester, hoping that a summer away will be just what they all need. Little do they know, it will be so much more.

Summer at the Comfort Food Cafe should definitely be making it onto your must red list, if you fancy a little escapism this summer.

Cupcakes and Confetti is another really great read. It follows Poppy as she regains her confidence after a bad breakup, while running her cake making business from a friend’s bridal shop. When a friend’s wedding arrangements hang in the balance, she steps in as wedding coordinator at a stunning countryside venue. Unfortunately for her, Rafe, the farm owner is anti wedding and about as welcoming as a bad case of thrush. But despite a few wrong turns and much hilarity, it turns out Rafe could be her Mr Right. Another one to add to your reading list!

As well as the usual Game of Thrones (Hodor!), In the Club and Peaky Blinders, I stumbled across some of my old DVDs when I was having a bit of a sort out the other day and couldn’t resist having a watch. Who remembers Mile High?

Sun, sea, sand and sex. Kinda reminds me of when I was a holiday rep. Those were the days!

Slimming World Banana Pancakes top view

My totally awesome Slimming World Banana Pancakes which are healthy and delicious. I’ve eaten them every day for breakfast this week and lost a whopping 7lb! *Does happy dance*.

Its been mostly pjs and comfies seeing as we’ve been in so much. Although we did go out for a lovely lunch last Sunday at a restaurant near us and we even had a dip in the pool last week before the sickness hit.

I literally can’t get Justin Timberlake’s new song out of my head, so its mainly been that, coupled with the lovely Craig David again. I’m clearly set in my ways music wise.

And Lastly….

The countdown is on until we go stay with my family for 2 weeks. We’re off there in 45 days to be precise, which means my birthday (35 eek!) is in 47 days. Its gone so quick since we booked it just after Christmas. Where on earth is this year going to? We’ve got lots of visits with family planned, days out, afternoon tea and even a not so secret party the teen has planned for me (bless her). Can’t wait!

They are rather amazing considering they’re ‘healthy’ pancakes – plus I hate bananas so it’s a great way for a fussy moo like me to get some much needed fruit into my diet! x

I’m definitely giving those pancakes a go in the morning. I’ve been having the naughty version of nutella pancakes a bit to often so this look like a perfect alternative.

We’ve all come down with another bug now, I’m sure this place should double as a hospital sometimes! Can’t wait for our trip back home, it’s been 2 long years! x
