I’m glad to report this week was significantly better than last, despite being struck down by whatever germs the 5 year old has been clinging onto for what seems like weeks. I’ve spent the vast majority of the week in bed since Sunday. And from Wednesday onwards both the teen and the little one have been off school feeling decidedly sorry for themselves. Last week must have been bad if this week beats it that’s for sure!
Luckily we did manage to get out on Saturday prior to being claimed by my sick bed. And that public holiday I was so looking forward to on Friday was just heavenly. So it’s not all bad. Here’s what I’ve enjoyed (albeit from underneath my duvet) this week:
I seem to have an addiction to the Kindle sales. I can’t stop buying books! This week alone I’ve bought Spark Joy by Marie Kondo, Fat Chance by Nick Spalding, which I’ve just started reading and The Year of Living Danishly, which I’ve been meaning to get my hands on for months. It’s not like I don’t already have 90,000 books waiting to be read in my kindle library!
I’ve also been having a look through the teen’s dummies guide to using her (she stole it from me) DSLR. I have no idea what I was expecting, perhaps I am too much of a ‘dummy’ for even this book because I still can’t get my head around it. I can barely even turn the thing on half the time, yet the teen seems to take beautiful photos with ease. I’m determined I will master it before the summer. Wish me luck!
Erm not very much at all after feeling so rough all week. I ‘made’ the effort to actually drag myself from the bed occassionally if that counts. And I ‘made’ a pizza hut delivery order when I really couldn’t be bothered to cook. I had to pick the toppings so I practically made it!
Pyjamas? I must do better at this one. Although to be fair getting dressed at all this week has been cause for celebration.
We had a lovely day on Saturday exploring Mdina aka the ‘Silent City’. I’ve wanted to go up there for ages but kept putting it off, or not being able to park within miles because its been mobbed with tourists. So off we set on Saturday morning and managed to get a parking space no problem, avoiding the crowds and leaving before the coach loads of tourists arrived.
You might even recognise the main gate into the city as the entrance to King’s Landing in GoT Series One. Here’s a little video if you’re a GoT geek like me.
Have a great weekend whatever you get up to!
