Downton Abbey, Red Lippy and Lots to Look Forward to #littleloves

This week seems to have flown by, I can’t believe it’s Friday already. We’ve not been up to much thanks to school and the man getting over his illness, but for me it has been a good week. I got my routine back with the kids back at school – who knew it’s actually me that craves routine more than they do! I’ve been busy with work and had a little more time to chill out than I had last week.

Enough waffling and onto my #littleloves for the week!

I finished reading Strictly Between Us, which turned out way better than I initially thought. It was definitely a grower and one that once you really got into you simply can’t put down.

Next up is another recommendation from Red Magazine and KA – The Stylist. I’m about a third of the way through and I’m loving it already. It’s one of those books that makes you laugh aloud while you’re reading it as it follows Amber Green, an assistant in an exclusive London boutique as she’s plucked from obscurity by a world famous stylist to the stars and heads to Hollywood ready for awards season. I have a feeling it’s going to be another one of those books I read within a week!

Is it weird that I’ve never watched Downton Abbey? I never got into it when the first series aired so I didn’t bother watching the rest. I decided it was now or never last night though so I started having a little binge while on the laptop.

I’ve also been rewatching Nashville while working away in the lounge. I seriously need to start working in my office, but it’s just too quiet down there!

Lots more delicious Slimming World recipes! No pics though I’m afraid. I lost another 2lb this week when I weighed in for the second time, which I’m rather chuffed about. So that’s 9lb in 2 weeks and it looks like I’ll get another 2lb off this week (sneaky weigh in alert) so it’s going well. It’s funny but I haven’t missed the copious amounts of chocolate, cake and sausage rolls I was stuffing into my mouth at a rate of knots before I started making an effort to eat better and I even really enjoyed the boxing I did the other morning, with the aid of my Davina dvd.

Red lippy and my sparkly nail varnish. The perfect pick me up.

The teen is absolutely obsessed with the song Stitches by Shawn Mendes. She plays it over and over gain pretty much all day every day. It drove me mad when she first started doing it, but luckily it’s growing on me now.

And lastly….

Be happy

I like this little quote. Taking part in #littleloves actually helps me stop to appreciate the good in every week, which is sometimes hard to see at first glance, especially when like last week I was having a bad week.

This coming week we have lots to look forward to. A party for the little one to go to tomorrow, my mum arriving for a week on Friday and both kids have their own parties the following weekend, so it’s going to be a busy one. But my mum coming to stay means the man and I will get a night out (our first since December), the kids get to get thoroughly spoiled by their nan, my mum and I get to spend some time together without the kids while they’re at school and the teen, my mum and I even have a girly night out planned. Can’t wait!

Have a great weekend!

That book sounds like something I’d really enjoy reading too! Enjoy your time with your mum, and your date night. Can’t wait to read all about it next week xx

It was a great book, very Devil Wears Prada. We’re having a great time with my mum, she arrived on Friday so no date night yet, but there will be! x

Ha ha glad I’m not the only one with a neglected office! Only time I ever go in there is when I need to do something urgently and escape the kids, although it doesn’t have a door so it’s not really a great escape plan x

Glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t watched Downton before, beginning to think I was! x

Ha ha I watched a few episodes and then may have gone back to Game of Thrones. I want to watch it, but it’s a bit slow for me. Might try again once I finish GOT for the 1000th time ha ha. x
