Back to School, Great TV and Moana #littleloves

This week has been all about getting back into a routine after 2 weeks off school. As much as I can’t stand the early starts, we have our routine nailed now we’re into the final term of the year. We haven’t done anything much at all this week really, just focused on school and homework, so its definitely been quiet, but I think that’s just what we needed this week.

Anyway, onto my #littleloves

Read

After devouring Big Little Lies on the tv a while back, I thought I’d give the book a read. It’s a great book, differs slightly from the series and I read it within just a few days. I’m onto The Midwife’s Confession now which is a bit of a mystery and another step away from my usual chick lit.

Watched

I saw this pop up on my tv catch up the other day and almost dismissed it. Then I realised it was the follow up to the BBC & Phillipa Gregory’s The White Queen from a few years back. The reason I flicked past it is because the cast has completely changed. Infact there’s only one cast member I recognise from The White Queen. But there are a few familiar faces, with one of the leading ladies baring a startling resemblance to GoT’s Catelyn Stark. Needless to say once I got over the different cast I watched the first two episodes one after the other.

Another new discovery is Harlots, which delves into selling sex in the 18th century. Disturbing and addictive in equal measure, it’s one of those shows you discover almost by accident and then can’t wait for the next installment.

And of course I binge watched Girl Boss as soon as it was out on Netflix. I won’t lie, I found it rather odd at first, but by the end I was absolutely hooked.

Made

I actually made something, not that I have photographic proof because they were demolished before I had the chance to take a pic. The kids and I made a huge batch of these amazing chocolate brownies on Friday, which we promptly polished off before I was back on the diet on Saturday.

Wore

Clothes? Nothing to see here I’m afraid. I did tackle my mountainous ironing pile however so it’s almost like getting a new wardrobe.

Heard

The teen singing along to the Moana soundtrack. She literally doesn’t stop singing it. I could think of worse things to listen to though I guess.

And lastly…

We’re looking forward to the long weekend after a week of 6.30am starts for school after the Easter holidays. We have nothing planned and I’m looking forward to a few days of just chilling out and having a few lazy days together.

I realised earlier we only have 8 weeks left of school before the kids break up for the summer. There’s no half term on the horizon for us, but I guess we get to break up a month earlier than everyone else. I’m just not so keen on the 13 weeks off school after the kids break up though. But it means we’re one step closer to our two week holiday staying with family and none of us can wait for that.

Have fun whatever you get up to this weekend!

Ha ha glad I’m not the only one! Girl Boss is a weird one, it’s good, but definitely takes a bit of getting into. Maybe I’m getting old! x

Oh so many are loving the Moana soundtrack I need to download we haven’t seen the movie. My son has decided he hates the movie theatre because it’s too dark. Sadly we used to go all the time. We are back to school this week and routines so all pretty tired getting back to it but hooray for Happy bank holiday weekend #littleloves

Aww that’s a shame B isn’t keen anymore, mine loves it at the moment and we seem to be timing it just right lately with being the only ones in the cinema on a sunday morning so we get the whole screen to ourselves. It’s definitely a catchy soundtrack – it’s either that or Ed Sheeran blasting from the teens room at the at the mo, so luckily it’s a good one! Gotta love a bank holiday – I’m sure we should have at least two every month, everyone is so much happier! x

I go through phases of watching nothing, the same things on repeat and then all of a sudden there’s loads of new shows I binge watch. I’ll be glad when those 8 weeks are up to be honest, I hate dragging 2 sleepy kids out of their bed at 6.30 every morning, but like I said 13 weeks of them at home is not exactly my idea of fun! (Gin and cake helps)

I’m with you on the early mornings. I’m not sure how I’m going to cope when it comes to the girls going to school. My legs gave way underneath me as I got up on Sunday for a carboot sale over the weekend! Also the ironing pile seems never ending. #LittleLoves

I’m with you on GirlBoss. You feel like you want to give the main character a good old shake as she comes across as so entitled. It definitely got better though.
Moana is on in our house a lot too and of course I’ll chime in with a ‘you’re welcome’ at an appropriate time and get met with an eye roll! xx
