I don’t know about you, but as much as I loved summer this year, I’m all about the cosy autumn vibes right now. Beautiful blue skies, a chill in the air, walks in the woods with leaves crunching under foot, curling up under a blanket with a hot chocolate. What’s not to love?
Here’s a few things that have made it onto my list of #littleloves this month:
As well as becoming hooked on Harry Potter (I’m now on book 4 if anyone’s keeping count), I’ve also been reading the fabulous This is Going to Hurt. What a book! I’ve laughed, cried and cringed throughout.
Then there’s the gorgeous Whiskey in a Teacup from Reese Witherspoon, which I’ve been dipping in and out of over the last week or so. It’s like sitting down for a chat with Reese herself as she shares recipes, anecdotes, family traditions and more, celebrating the very best of the American South.
Well this month’s tv certainly hasn’t disappointed. Bodyguard came to an end and I loved the last episode every bit as much as the others. I wasn’t expecting the twist at all and was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Speaking of being kept on the edge of my seat, I’m loving Killing Eve. I was a bit late to the party with this one, as usual. But wow. The woman is a complete and utter psycho and it just keeps getting better and better.
Now the weather is getting colder, there’s nothing like a warming bowl of comfort food and this is a real favourite of ours. Pinch of Nom Low Syn Cumberland Pie is just the tastiest one pot dish ever. So warming and seriously delicious. You’ll never believe it’s diet friendly. Even my two fussy kids ask for seconds.
My friend and I went for afternoon tea last week at one of our favourite places. For those in Kent you need to try The Secret Garden near Ashford. It’s a beautiful place, perfect for weddings, with a pretty courtyard, beautiful garden and the most amazing food. Oh and don’t forget the cocktails. We’d been craving one of the rhubarb cocktails since we last went and treated ourselves to a few, which felt rather decadent on a Wednesday afternoon. Especially as neither of us were on school pick up duty that day. We spent the afternoon chatting, laughing and indulging ourselves. Exactly what the doctor ordered.
And this is what I wore. This gorgeous Long Sleeve Wrap Dress from M&S is perfect for autumn. Those of you who saw my stories that day may have caught a glimpse of me in it. It’s lined chiffon with a pretty flower and polka dot print. Totally something I’d never usually wear but I love how flattering wrap dresses are and I got so many compliments wearing it. Perhaps I need to step outside of my comfort zone clothing wise more often.
I was thrilled to hear my ‘Blogger Behind the Blog‘ interview was live on Donna’s blog. It was so much fun to reminisce about why I started blogging back in 2009, my favourite posts and how things have changed since then. If you haven’t seen it, go give it a read.
