A happy cloud #littleloves

Inspired by Jenny at Lets Talk Mommy I thought I’d give the #LittleLoves linky hosted over at But Why Mummy Why a go this week as I’ve not joined in before and it seems a great way to recap on the last week. So what have we been up to? Take a look:

On my (now broken) Kindle is A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones as its known on tv) which I got for Christmas and have been reading ever since. I was really into it until my Kindle just turned itself off never to turn on again the other morning! Luckily my old rather battered Kindle is still working despite a broken screen so I managed to carry on reading it last night. The books are definitely as good as the series and vice versa, you feel as if you could be right in the thick of the action and I can’t wait to read more each day.

I’ve also just downloaded my new copy of iBlog Magazine so I’ll be having a good read of that over the next few days. I paid for a subscription in January and have only glanced at the magazines so far. Needless to say I really need to make time to read them.

I’m addicted to The Theory of Everything about Stephen and Jane Hawkin. I watched it a few weeks ago and couldn’t help watching it again this week when I got the chance. It really is a beautiful film. The acting is fantastic, the story moving and its one I’ll probably watch again and again.

I reviewed a gorgeous YSL travel palette last week and have been wearing the makeup ever since. I love the mix of colours and have been experimenting with the bright lip colours (I’m usually more of a nude lips girl).

One of my friends shared this video on Facebook recently, its one of the tracks from 50 Shades of Grey and the video is probably racier than the film itself. It’s one very sexy song and the video is pretty racy too (oh to have a figure like those dancers, although not sure I’d be brave enough for those ‘outfits’)!

Scones! Delicious buttery scones topped with clotted cream and syrup. Yum! I love baking with the kids. My only problem is self control – why eat one cake when you can eat all of them in a day. Yes I’m that bad! The minute I make cakes or biscuits that’s it my diet goes out of the window and I’m eating rubbish again until I feel guilty enough to get back on the dieting wagon. I wish I could find a way to make treats with the kids and not eat them all – perhaps I’ll have to start cooking things I don’t like to eat, then I won’t have that problem!

And Lastly….

I’ve been a little bit down lately, it’s been one of those everything happening to conspire against you weeks – from ill relatives to everything breaking (phone, kindle, handbrake!) and pretty much everything inbetween, but I have had some good times this week and I’m trying to focus on them instead of the things I’d rather not think about. There’s been a trip to IKEA with a good friend, coffee and chats, an AMAZING chocolate cake made by the kids (yep ate most of it – oops), a great kids party at the weekend (yes it is possible to have fun at a kids soft play party – especially when they serve wine!) great praise from someone I work for and I had an absolute ball at my little ones toddler group at his nursery. Plus who could be miserable after buying the cutest cloud cushion ever!?! (My little one isn’t keen so I may well pinch it for myself at this rate!)

Thanks Jenny, I’d seen it on your blog for ages and kept forgetting to link up myself – actually reminded myself to do it this week though! The film is amazing – just make sure you have tissues at the ready – it’s a weepy one! x

Welcome to Little Loves, so pleased that you’ve joined in and linked up. I really must go and see the Stephen Hawking film before it leaves the cinema, I’ve read such good things about it. I’m the same as you with baking, I just end up eating the lot! I definitely need to try baking things I don’t like… but that’s just not as fun is it? Have a great weekend xx

I think the 5 books will be the longest I’ve ever read that’s for sure! I feel like I’ve been reading them forever already and I’m still practically at the beginning, they are brilliant though. Hope you have a lovely weekend too! x

The scone look so yummy. I think I may need to try to make these. Daughter will love playing with the mixture but I am sure more flour will land on the floor. Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed reading a couple articles on iBlog Magazine.

Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling a bit down, I’ve been the same this week and really hoping there’s some better things in store next week.
Your scones look amazing, I love baking with my little boy, he loves it too but he doesn’t have a sweet tooth so doesn’t eat whats made which leaves it for me to scoff. Not good for the waistline! xx
