A Birthday, A Dress and A Star is Born | My #littleloves in December

A bit late in the day for my December #littleloves huh? Seeing as it’s almost mid January. But I figured why not?

December was perhaps a little quieter than usual, but it was rather a dreamy month with trips out with friends, a fabulous Christmas market. a visit to Santa and of course a birthday for a very special little boy.

Here’s what made it to the list last month:

Read

December was a great month for books after a rather slow November book-wise. I devoured Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Enjoyed a festive themed book – The Mother of All Christmases. And read the fabulous The Happiness Project. All of which I really enjoyed.

Watched

I started watching the new series of The Marvellous Mrs Maisel. It’s every bit is good as the first and there’s a lot of bittersweet moments in there, along with some fabulous fashion.

Browsing through YouTube I came across this fab vlog about applying under eye concealer when you’re not an 18 year old YouTuber without an eye bag in sight. I’m not usually one for YouTube, but I found myself falling down a rabbit hole after watching this video. I may have even bought one of the concealers she recommends (Maybelline eraser eye) and it sure seems to work!

I was so late to the party with this one, but I FINALLY got around to seeing A Star is Born and OH MY GOD how amazing is it? I loved every second.

Wore

I managed to get my hands on the pink leopard print shirt dress from M&S and Holly Willoughby just as it went into the sales. Lucky I did as it’s completely sold out online now and people are flogging it on ebay for double it’s original price. Needless to say at just £30 in the sale I got myself a bit of a bargain. It’s the perfect dress to dress up and down and oh so flattering. I’ll be wearing it twice next week. That’s how much I love it.

Made

I ‘made’ this little one’s birthday cake on Christmas Day. And by ‘made’ I mean I bought a cake from Sainsbury’s, made the teen make party hats for some of his dinosaurs and dumped them on top of the cake. He absolutely loved it. And instead of stressing myself out baking and icing a cake on Christmas Eve, I saved a fortune and gave myself a break. Win win all round.

Heard

This one shrieking with delight as he opened yet more presents on Christmas Day. It’s a hard job having your birthday on Christmas Day, but someone’s got to do it. It seems having a massive cuddly dinosaur sat next to you as you open your presents helps enormously.

I’m still yet to watch a Star is Born. Definitely need to get the DVD now! I love the dress! Very pretty. Can’t believe people actually buy it and sell it, I think it’s outrageous that they double the price! I promised myself I would read more this year, not read one book yet. Sounds like your December was lovely! Have a wonderful January lovely xx

I thought I was the only one not to have seen it! It’s such a lovely film. It’s a gorgeous dress. Not me at all – long, pleated, pink and animal print but I LOVE it and it’s ridiculously flattering. I’m definitely wearing it when I go out at the weekend. I think I’m on my 4th book already and it’s only the 14th of January, that’s just excessive. But I keep getting hooked and staying up late to finish them off. Have a fab month x

Happy New Year to you too! It’s a really good film, bit weepy at the end though, but then I cry at everything. Ha ha it’s the first year I’ve not bothered with making a cake and I felt so much better for it, it definitely made the day that bit less stressful that’s for sure. I’ve just posted about my favourite books of last year if there’s any on there you need to add to your ‘to read’ list 😉 x

Happy New Year (bit late now isn’t it?!). I’ve not seen A Star is Born yet, I’m waiting for it to come onto SKY Movies (we don’t ever get the chance to go to the cinema!). It sounds like you had a good Christmas and that Little Man had a great birthday. Here’s to a good 2019 for you all xx

I didn’t manage to see A Star Is Born *sad face* so I’ll have to wait until it’s out on DVD. Happy birthday to your boy – a Christmas Day birthday! Hope he had a doubly fab time.
